It recognises and supports community-centred initiatives, ethical tourism standards and environmental care. Through a rigorous application process and careful evaluation by experienced jury members, the Summit and Awards celebrates individuals and organisations who strengthen local livelihoods, encourage capacity building and foster shared learning. Its purpose is to ensure that tourism benefits both visitors and host communities without harming cultural identity or ecological wellbeing.

Indian Responsible Tourism State Awards (IRTSA)
The Indian Responsible Tourism State Summit and Awards is the natural progression of our vision to take responsible travel to every district and welcome more small businesses, entrepreneurs, start ups and cultural custodians into our growing community. After eight editions across India, including three in Meghalaya, three in Rajasthan, one in Gujarat and one in Maharashtra, the platform recognises local champions who shape ethical tourism at the grassroots. It amplifies their impact and strengthens a statewide culture of responsible travel.
