Itmenaan Lodges employs locals, practices fair trade, sources local produce and allocates 10 per cent of profits for development of the local community every year. They also regularly plant native trees, have eliminated chemicals from their orchards and have entirely renovated the property by reusing stone and wood that was procured locally.
